Our 2023 Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon, the final release for Cresta Velia, is a deep inky ruby with a layered nose of concentrated blackcurrant, ripe blackberry and dark plum framed by mountain herbs, bay leaf, cedar, graphite and crushed black pepper that culminates with a faint whiff of African violets and baker’s chocolate. The palate is full‑bodied and concentrated, driven by a dense cassis and blackberry core, bright mountain acidity and firm, fine‑grained tannins, with savory minerality, smoked-meat and espresso notes through the midpalate and well‑integrated oak that supports rather than dominates. The finish is long and persistent, and closes with a slightly graphite‑tinged and savory spice.
