2019 Cresta Velia Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder

“A step up, yet slightly more expensive, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder has more red and black fruits as well as notes of new leather, flowery incense, camphor, and spice. It's another complex, medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured wine in the lineup that can be drunk any time over the coming 10-15 years.” Jeb Dunnuck 94 points

“The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Mt. Veeder) is a wild, powerful wine. Scorched earth, tobacco, game, herbs and leather lead into a core of red/purplish berry fruit. This potent, deep Veeder Cabernet is terrific. The 2019 doesn't quite reach the sublime level of the 2018, but it comes close.” Antonio Galloni 94 points

2018 Cresta Velia Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder

"I loved the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder from barrel and it showed beautifully from bottle. Deep purple-hued, with powerful notes of blackcurrants, leafy herbs, tapenade, chocolate, and bay leaf, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a lush, sumptuous texture, awesome tannins, and a finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. This beautiful Mount Veeder Cabernet will evolve for 20-25 years." Jeb Dunnuck 96+

"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon emerges from a new site on Mt. Veeder that is just beginning to enter production. Inky and explosive, the 2018 possesses off the charts richness. The 2018 captures all the intensity of Veeder, but without the tannins and harsher elements that can penalize Cabernets here. The 2018 is a total turn-on. It is a remarkable effort for a vineyard that was only planted in 2014 and 2015. Don't miss it."   Antonio Galloni/Vinous 95

2017 Cresta Velia Eagle Summit Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
"I think the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is every bit as successful as the 2016 yet has a touch more austerity and obvious structure. Offering terrific dark, chocolate fruit as well as resinous herbs, sage brush, and graphite aromatics, it’s medium to full-bodied, with a beautifully layered, textured mouthfeel and a great finish. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following 15 years or more."  Jeb Dunnuck 95

2017 Cresta Velia Ithica Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
"Another outstanding wine, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford almost matches the 2016 and has similar spicy blue fruits, sage brush, menthol, and floral aromas and flavors. It’s great value as well as a sure bet. Drink this pretty, medium to full-bodied, focused 2017 any time over the coming decade." Jeb Dunnuck 93

2016 Cresta Velia Eagle Summit Cabernet Sauvignon
"A small step up in price, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain offers classic Howell Mountain blue and black fruits as well as notes of sage brush, mint, and spice. It’s full-bodied, has a complex, intense bouquet, loads of ripe fruit, and the purity of fruit that makes this vintage so compelling. Drink it any time over the coming 15+ years." Jeb Dunnuck 96

2016 Cresta Velia Ithica Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
"I think a great value, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford comes from the northern end of this appellation (near Zinfandel Lane) and is all Cabernet aged 20 months in 90% new French oak. It has loads of spicy, peppermint, and candied black and blue fruits as well as full-bodied richness, a pretty, elegant texture, and plenty of opulent fruit. This lifted, sexy 2016 is ideal for drinking over the coming decade or so."  Jeb Dunnuck 94

2015 Cresta Velia Cabernet Sauvignon Eagle Summit Vineyard
"Based on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 80% new French oak, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain from winemaker John Giannini boasts a fabulous inky color to go with loads of black and blue fruits, graphite, damp earth and spring flower/violet notes. It’s full-bodied, balanced, and elegant on the palate, with fine tannin and nothing out of place. In short, it’s a beautiful wine that will shine for 15+ years."  Jeb Dunnuck 95

"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon gives up fragrant red and black currants notes with quite a meaty/savory undercurrent of chargrill and Marmite plus touches of incense, cedar and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, it has a good solid frame of chewy tannins and plenty of freshness supporting the concentrated black fruits, finishing on an earthy note."

2013 Cresta Velia Cabernet Sauvignon Eagle Summit Vineyard
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a limited production cuvée that exhibits an opaque purple color and notes of cassis and blackberry liqueur, some licorice and underlying earthy notes. It is full-bodied, rich, dense and super-impressive for a relatively new producer. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Eagle Summit Vineyard on Howell Mountain and was aged 20 months in 80% new French oak."  Wine Advocate- Robert Parker 95
